September 15 update:

I finished uploading the September 10th Rock The Bay Poker Run photos. Please go to http://photos.powerboatphotos.com/2011RockTheBay. They are divided into galleries by brand, and hopefully I didn't confuse my Spectres and Skaters too badly.  I have not double-checked the galleries, but I have occasionally dragged and dropped shots into the wrong folder.  Some shots are close in, some are farther out as the helicopter was getting into position or I was trying to include some background scenery. I can crop anything in close, and always "work" each ordered picture in Photoshop before I send it to the photo lab and personally pick it up for inspection and mailing. I may be able to do some color changes for the brown water.

In addition to my photography, Tim Sharkey was also working on one of the Outerlimits and may have some good shots that you can purchase from him. We were not working together but feel free to purchase from Tim if he's got the shot. I don't think they are online yet but his web site is http://sharkey-images.com.

If you are ordering multiple pictures there are some package deals that may save you some money. If you don't see them, are confused, or the package doesn't quite meet your needs, please call me.

The 2011 Powerboating for a Cure Poker Run pictures are now available at http://photos.powerboatphotos.com/2011powerboatingforacure. I crop and straighten and generally clean them up as a normal course of editing and printing, and will even up the exposure. It was particuarly challenging shooting from Lynnhaven to Fort Wool (that little fort by the I-64 tunnels), but I got the boat exposure right and that's the important part. I will fix the water and sky to match the boat's exposure on the pictures that are ordered.

The 2011 Jammin' on the James poker run pictures are now available at this link: photos.powerboatphotos.com

Please note that the uploaded photos are proofs, and I had 1600 pictures to post. For final prints, I always crop them, straighten horizons, remove background boats if possible and requested, and generally clean them up so that your boat is the focal point and other distractions are removed via photoshopping it.  With 1600 pictures, I can't do the clean-up until the photos are ordered.

New additions include metal prints (weather resistant and suitable for outdoor use), vinyl "wall clings" like the Fathead sports figures, and engraved cigar boxes with Kentucky bourbon flavored cigars.  I can create calendars with your boat, specific brands, event calendars--you pick the pictures.  The photos can be put on just about anything, just ask!  I have not yet priced these items, particularly the metal outdoor prints because they have a variety of attachment/hanging options, so we will need to work together on your specific needs for pricing.

Within the photo galleries (on photos.powerboatphotos.com), two of the most useful features are the slideshow link and "dim the lights".  Also "buy" is a great link to use too.  The Dim the Lights and Buy are found by mousing to the top left corner of an individual picture, and the slidshow is above and to the right of the thumbnail's.  If you have trouble navigating, please call 804-339-8039.

The 2007 through 2010 events can be accessed through the "photos" tab at the top of this page.

Regarding the pictures you see online, I always fix them up as part of the printing process. I crop and correct everything before I personally send it to the photo lab.  What you see on the web site are mostly uncorrected proofs, direct from the camera. Final versions will have accurate color, straight horizons, and obstructions or unnecessary background objects removed. I take thousands of pictures and although I look at each one and do some prep work before posting for sale, I do not crop and straighten many of these medium resolution shots that are posted online (that will be done in final production for purchased pictures).
